Vision and Mission Statement
The St. Edward School Community strives to do what is right and do our best in the image of Christ. St. Edward School, in partnership with families and the Catholic Church, challenges each student to achieve academic excellence; to appreciate the arts; to realize his or her full potential and to embrace and model the gospel of Jesus Christ through service to our community and the world.
Message from the Principal, Dr. Lisa Redmon
Welcome to St. Edward School, one of the most diverse schools in the Nashville Diocese that is rich in Catholic tradition and home of the Saints! In addition to providing a rigorous education for all learners, St. Edward is also committed to providing students from many different cultures a safe and caring environment where they have the opportunity to pray together, break bread together, and play together. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to learn more about St. Edward and to take a tour of our great school.
Sincerely in Christ,
Lisa Redmon, Ph.D.
Falls Creek Falls
Great news!!! The sixth graders arrived safely back to St. Edward from Falls Creek Falls, and they had a great time! I was very thankful that I had an opportunity to spend Wednesday and Thursday with them, and I was amazed at the great things they were doing. It was wonderful seeing the students building relationships and creating memories with their classmates. Often when you ask a student what he or she remembers about their time as a student at St. Edward, they will talk about their fond memories of their sixth grade field trip to Falls Creek Falls – with no cell phones, no iPads, no iPods, and no computers. The students were engaged and interacting with one another. It was very refreshing to see a large group of people talking to one another during meals and not looking at their cell phones. We are very blessed that we have people willing to give their time to make this a special week for our sixth graders.
We had a very successful Open House today that was attended by several families. They all fell in love with our school as visitors usually do, and I believe that we will have some new students next year as a result. Again, it takes several people to have a successful Open House… Thank you to our Home and School Association - Regina Crump helped with food and drinks, Kelly Lynd helped with our tour of the school, and Summer Kindle gave a tour to a Pre-K prospective family! Thank you for all that you did today to make our Open House great!
Special thanks to Major Kindle for visiting us on Veterans Day!
