5TH GRADE ELA TEACHER

Have you ever landed somewhere that felt like home? That's how I feel about St. Edward School.

I joined the faculty in 1988 as a brand-new first-grade teacher. I taught first grade for 32 years, working with some of the BEST people! In 2019 I was awarded the Christ the Teacher Award through the Diocese of Nashville.

In 2020 I made the switch to 4th grade. I currently teach 4th grade plus 5th grade ELA. I plan to stay here until I'm ready to retire. (Which is actually not in my plans!)

I've been married to John Rippy since 1990, and we have two daughters, Lauren and Anna; my girls went to St. Edward and had some of the BEST teachers.

In 2014 I was introduced to an orphanage, The Raining Season (TRS), in Sierra Leone, Africa. I have traveled to Sierra Leone six times to work with the teachers and caregivers at TRS. The people there have also become like a family to me.

What do I love most about St. Edward? The people I share it with! We are blessed to have the BEST faculty, families, and kids! I'm so happy to be here!
