St. Edward School (SES) is a well-known and respected Catholic Elementary School in the Diocese of Nashville. Surrounded by some of Nashville’s oldest, yet fastest growing neighborhoods, our parish school holds a strong sense of community and tradition. This parish school with close ties to the church and community has developed a strong tradition, not just in the Diocese, but in the city of Nashville and surrounding areas as well. Families from 29 surrounding zip codes have chosen this hidden gem in the city for the education of their children.

A major strength of St. Edward School is its diverse population which represents the richness of Nashville. Students of all racial, ethnic and economic backgrounds gather daily to learn, play and pray together. Although our Catholic foundation is the purpose for the school, students of all faiths are invited to be part of our school community. A recent adjustment in tuition rates has equalized the tuition between Catholic and non-Catholic students. In addition, approximately one-fourth of our families qualify for financial assistance, making an education at St. Edward a practical reality for many families.

At SES, a dedicated teaching staff ensure that students learn in an atmosphere that balances academic rigor and individualized attention. Current initiatives include innovations in math and science along with the adoption of Catechesis of the Good Shepard, a hands-on approach to bring religion alive to our young students. An outstanding music program along with multiple after-school activities help provide a well-rounded education for our children.

All students at SES are welcomed into the family lovingly referred to as the “Saints”. From the front office to the classrooms, to the custodial and lunchroom staff and coaches on the field, all adults wrap their arms around our students to create an atmosphere of love and acceptance for all!
